This website for the FirstNet Programmatic Environmental Impact Statement (PEIS) is your one-stop shop for National Environmental Policy Act of 1969 (NEPA)-related public documents for each of the regional PEISs.

The First Responder Network Authority (FirstNet) is preparing five regional PEISs to evaluate the potential environmental impacts of a proposed nationwide public safety broadband network. Due to the geographic scope and the diversity of ecosystems potentially traversed by the project, FirstNet has elected to prepare five regional PEISs. The five PEISs are divided as shown in the map below:

The PEISs scoping period began with publication of the Notice of Intent (NOI) in the Federal Register on November 12, 2014 and ended on December 29, 2014 (45 days after publication of the NOI). FirstNet held several public scoping meetings to solicit further comments on the proposed scope and content of each regional PEIS.

Public involvement is an integral component of NEPA, and FirstNet invites you to get involved in any or all of the public processes relating to these PEISs. The NEPA process has specific times for public involvement, during which you may submit official public comments through , the mail or at PEIS public meetings. In order to maximize opportunities for public participation, FirstNet will also accept written comments via email to or by mail to:

Comments received will be made a part of the public record and may be posted to this FirstNet website without change. Comments should be machine readable and should not be copy-protected. All personally identifiable information (e.g., name, address) voluntarily submitted by the commenter may be publicly accessible. Do not submit confidential business information or otherwise sensitive or protected information.
