Throughout March and April, Massachusetts held a series of FirstNet information and outreach sessions in five locations statewide. The sessions were facilitated by the Massachusetts Public Safety Broadband Office (PSBO), a new office that was established to collaborate with first responders, public safety entities, and other stakeholders about FirstNet.

20-year old Princeton University student Charlie Jacobson is a volunteer firefighter and software developer. He has created a mobile application called FireStop, which aims to provide firefighters with critical data and information before, during, and after fires.

Yesterday was the beginning of the annual week-long celebration to honor our nation’s law enforcement, with special recognition for the men and women who have lost their lives in the line of duty. National Police Week runs May 11-17 this year and has its roots in a presidential proclamation that designates May 15th as Peace Officers Memorial Day.
