Programmatic Environmental Impact Statement (PEIS)

This website for the FirstNet Programmatic Environmental Impact Statement (PEIS) is your one-stop shop for National Environmental Policy Act of 1969 (NEPA)-related public documents for each of the regional PEISs.

The First Responder Network Authority (FirstNet) is preparing five regional PEISs to evaluate the potential environmental impacts of a proposed nationwide public safety broadband network. Due to the geographic scope and the diversity of ecosystems potentially traversed by the project, FirstNet has elected to prepare five regional PEISs. The five PEISs are divided as shown in the map below:

Announcements

The PEISs scoping period began with publication of the Notice of Intent (NOI) in the Federal Register on November 12, 2014 and ended on December 29, 2014 (45 days after publication of the NOI). FirstNet held several public scoping meetings to solicit further comments on the proposed scope and content of each regional PEIS.
