Brian Hobson

Brian Hobson is the Assistant Executive Director for Innovation and Investment at the FirstNet Authority, where he leads network planning, investment strategy, and future roadmap development for FirstNet, the nationwide public safety broadband network.

He has been part of the FirstNet initiative since its earliest days and has held leadership roles across product development, public safety advocacy, and enterprise strategy — working closely with first responders and industry to advance mission-critical communications capabilities.

Prior to joining FirstNet, Brian supported wireless communications and networking programs across defense, homeland security, and advanced research organizations, helping drive innovation in mission critical communications and interoperability. He brings more than 25 years of experience in the wireless communications and networking field.

Brian holds a degree in electrical engineering from Washington State University.
