Mary Boyd

Mary Boyd is a subject matter expert and consultant in 9-1-1 related issues, serving 40 years in the public safety space.  She is recognized as one of our country’s foremost experts on 9-1-1 policy and regulation.  Ms. Boyd’s numerous contributions to public safety communications includes active participation in the recent FCC NG9-1-1 Rules, as well as all prior 9-1-1 rules including Wireless; VoIP 9-1-1 proceedings; Text to 9-1-1; MLTS and 9-1-1 Dispatchable Location requirements.  She has also served as a subject matter expert on 9-1-1 issues with Congress, the FCC, State 9-1-1 Authorities and Regulatory Boards.   She has served on many national forums, has co-authored publications, and has been recognized nationally for her accomplishments. Ms. Boyd as held many voluntary board positions with public safety associations and is a Past President of the National Emergency Number Association (NENA) and founding member of the National Association of State 9-1-1 Administrators (NASNA).  She has served many roles with FCC Advisory Boards including numerous CSRIC initiatives related to 9-1-1.  

When Ms. Boyd is not working on her public safety efforts, she serves as an elected official and is Mayor for the City of Comanche, Texas now serving in her fourth term.  She is also Founder of Gateway of Hope which is a home for displaced mothers and their children.  She holds an undergraduate degree from St. Edwards University, Austin TX and has completed advanced studies at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
