Some nations are planning to create nationwide wireless networks dedicated to first responders. An estimated 30 countries are actively examining the possibility of providing priority on a reliable, secure broadband network for public safety. Although the objectives are similar, countries are likely to design public-safety broadband programs in various ways. As the global marketplace for public-safety broadband opens, there is an opportunity to share challenges and solutions.
