Before joining the First Responder Network Authority (FirstNet Authority), Chuck served as an assistant director of homeland security with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency. In this role, he also served as the state’s single point of contact designee for FirstNet and as the statewide interoperability coordinator. He also worked closely with the Alabama Emergency Management Agency and local emergency management as the program manager for the Alabama Strategic Technology Reserve. 

Chuck joined the FirstNet Authority because he is passionate about serving those who serve their communities: first responders. His own background in public safety spans multiple decades and includes service as a county emergency management director and volunteer firefighter and rescue squad member. He envisions that with FirstNet, emergency managers will have access to unprecedented situational awareness from the field, allowing for more accurate and timely decision making.
