Jennifer McIntyre is the Senior Public Safety Advisor for 911/Emergency Communications.
For more than 20 years, she has been a leader in the 9-1-1 community, working to advance the field of emergency communications. She began her career as a Communications Specialist in Vail, Colorado, dispatching for services across Eagle County. In 2002, Jennifer transitioned to the Broomfield Police Department in Colorado where she dispatched and served as an Emergency Medical Coordinator, Communications Training Officer, Public Education Coordinator, and Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) Project Lead. In 2021, she took on a supervisor role and was responsible for the operation of the Emergency Communications Center; she also acted as an assistant Public Information Officer. As part of a regional interoperability project, Jennifer participated in a CAD-to-CAD implementation project that enabled several disparate CAD systems to share data. Jennifer also worked for a short time serving as a public safety subject matter expert for communication exercise planning and evaluations, supporting the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency Emergency Communications Division within the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
Jennifer joined the First Responder Network Authority in 2023, assisting with engagements at the FirstNet Boulder Lab and Public Safety Immersive Test Center. She currently serves as the interim 9-1-1/Emergency Communications Subject Matter Expert.
Jennifer’s passion for public safety, specifically 9-1-1/Emergency Communication Centers and how they are best served by the advancement of broadband technology, continues through her work at the FirstNet Authority.
